What is your headline?

Today I was at a workshop about Life Planning. One of the exercises had everyone to write their own headlines as if we were in the year 2020, and then to write the story. This is mine. There is one headline, 2 possible stories...

AMAZING WOMAN SURVIVES TEENAGERS, SPOUSE, MENOPAUSE, ECONOMY AND CAREER CHANGE WILE MAINTAINING HER SANITY AND SENSE OF HUMOR

Story #1.
The headline says it all....
The teenagers survived into adulthood.
The spouse is still her spouse.
The personal economy is still on track.
The doctors prescribed the right medicine.
The career was successfully changed.
You have to find the humor in all things.

Story #2.
Yesterday Kathy was released from the mental hospital after a successful round of psychiatric care. Her spouse and children have healed, and her bankrupcy resolved all their debts. kathy's future plans are to play and win the lottery - another attainable goal.

So what's the point? The point is, think about your headlines. How do you want to succeed? Where can you find your humor, even if it's just in writing fake headlines? Each of us needs to take life seriously, but we need to remember to see the best that you can, and to be the best that you can. My headline might have some truth in it, but there is a lot more to me than can be captured in a headline, and a lot more to my story than can be printed.
